  2. schleimwurm1 says:

ok… i’m sorry, but this song is awful. don’t get me wrong, i like what it stands for, but seriously? unless you are U2, dont make protest songs in the 80s… and dont make them sound too danceable…

  3. sam3629 says:

    What year was that?

  4. mnkid25 says:

Should now be adapted for Sun City, Arizona and the rest of the State.

  5. NeoBoer says:

Since 1994 the number of white farmers and their families murdered in South Africa is conservatively put at around 1 000. It may very well be much higher. There are currently an estimated 40 000 commercial farmers in the country. Over this same period in the region 250 000 South Africans out of a total current population of approximately 47 million have been murdered. (SAIRR)

  6. dianalyncollins says:

i like what the song and the artists and the video stood for. i wish they’d make more songs like that today.

  7. TheGreatEcstasy says:

I like the riots and funeral scenes in this video. If only the music didn’t suck so badly. And then that horrible cunt Bono chimes in. It’s enough to wish Apartheid had never been toppled.

  8. NeoBoer says:

Hey! Wonder where all of these artists are now that 250 000 people has been murdered under the new SA government.
You sing: “We’re hear to talk about SA” Maybe you shouldn’t talk about things you know nothing about. This was/is all false propaganda.
The blood of 250 000 people are on the hands of all the idiots singing here.

  9. rufiqa says:

There’s no parallel between Cuba today & South Africa. Under the USA backed Batista regime (pre1959), black Cubans who made up to 70% of Cuba’s population were treated as 2nd class citizens. With Castro’s revolution, they won for the 1st time equality, free education, health care & other rights.

If you want to draw an analogy to apartheid today, look to Israel’s apartheid policies towards the Palestinians in Israel & Occupied Territories. Support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions campaign!!

  10. garycalgary says:

@Drungmus I don;t understand the parallel between apartheid and Cuba either

  11. garycalgary says:

This came out when i was in high school and I remember being so angry over the unfairness of apartheid

It was an angry song but I knew why

  12. JackRackem says:

I didn’t know that this was directed by jonathan demme of (of Silence of the lambs fame) but pretty cool

  13. leco109 says:

Some day we will be heal of this cancer called racism.

  14. culwin says:

@PaladinGrendel I’m pretty sure none of them were ever invited to play a concert in Cuba. How is Cuba even like Apartheid? Hurp durp durp.

  15. Wolfsbrunnen says:

I made a tribute to Little Steven and “Saint Francis”
    Watch my video

  16. WillBobAl4ever says:

    I love this song!

  17. Drungmus says:

    @PaladinGrendel

what’s the parallel between apartheid and cuba?

  18. tadgerno1 says:

@Kagemusha08 I’m a retard? mercury was Zoroastrian, when asked about his ethnic background he proclamed himself as persian, wheres persia on the world map?i never said he was muslim,i never said he was born in india, although his parents were permanent residents and worked his father worked for the british embassy.

The reason why queen and rod stewart got attacked was because they’re white,no other reason.

  19. PaladinGrendel says:

Have any of these pop artists ever did a “boycott Cuba” video? Or are they all hypocrites?

  20. Constantine7777 says:

savagery ,beating folks with sticks and putting vicious dogs on helpless folks

  21. Kagemusha08 says:

@tadgerno1 Mercury was not Irainain you fucking retard. The Parsi people (Mercury’s ethnicity) had lived in India for a thousand years by that point; even if you considered him ethnic Persian he was neither Muslim or had any association with the state of Iran. He wasn’t even born in India in the first place. The reason why Queen got attacked the most probably had to do with the fact they were one of the biggest bands of that era. Same with Rod Stewart.

  22. thomasdww says:

Well Queen also played at Sun City.

  23. noahjell says:

    miles davis rocks!!!

  24. tadgerno1 says:

    why isn’t dionne warwick,george benson,cher,manilow,sinatra,julio,ray charles,the o’jays,boney m on this video clip?

i’ll tell you why because all of them played sun city and no-one wants to mention it.

queen and rod stewart were made scapegoats by other artists and mercury was made a scapegoat for years because he had an iranian background and americans couldn’t handle getting their asses kicked and embarrassed whilst standing back letting american citizens be held hostage.

  25. Supermercado says:

More importantly half of them were too shite to have been booked.
